More about Fit2B by Beth Learn and her team…

Here is Laura’s personal review of Fit2B.  You might like it if you:

  • want a fitness instructor who, rather than being focused on “looking sexy”, is down to earth, positive and focused on helping you be healthier, stronger and “fit to be”: a mom who can play and run with her kids…a Nana who can get on the floor and play with the grandkids…a woman who can continue to work her job…fill in the blank for your own goal here, folks!
  • are a pregnant mom or were at one time a pregnant mom (even 30 years post birth!).  It’s especially great for protecting and even healing a common, though unknown, issue called Diastasis Recti (separating tummy muscles that leave you with a belly pooch).  Learn more and test yourself here:

If you have a tummy pooch that won’t go away… If your belly button mysteriously became an outie when it was always an innie… If your lower back always bothers you, or you constantly “throw your back out”… If you pee your pants every time you sneeze, cough, laugh, stand up, sit down… If you’ve ever been pregnant… If you always feel like a weak noodle while walking around…

  • need a gentle, strength-building program due to weak or injured knees, shoulders, back, or neck.  Beth has learned a lot from a physical therapist (who is also her friend) to bring safe alternative movements into the videos
  • want to focus on core strength and flexibility first and add other important areas, like arms and legs, alongside.  Pilates and yoga moves are commonly used.
  • like some variety.  Pilates, yoga, tabata, kettle ball… Multiple video “pathways” to choose: beginner, advanced, abs, legs, arms, quick workouts, relaxation, etc…
  • don’t like to go (or can’t seem to make it) to the gym OR like working out in the privacy of your own home OR want the flexibility of working out at your convenience
  • want a modest instructor and not a sexy instructor on your tv or computer for all the family to watch.  Beth keeps it modest!
  • like to share things with the whole family….all at the same price.  Though geared to women, men have found it helpful and healing and there are videos made especially for the kiddos!
  • want a place to ask questions and have discussions because fit2be has a lively facebook and MeWe group and an online forum
  • want something affordable!
  • like supporting small home based, family run businesses with excellent customer service because that’s what this is!  Beth Learn (wife & mom of 2) shoots most of these videos in her own home with her videographer (with the occasional kid noises in the background and the cat coming in for a visit every now and then).  The business has grown over the last few years and is now supporting a few families and has clients all over the world.

It’s amazing how the simplest and gentlest moves can build so much strength and make you feel so good.  You will want to add cardio exercises for a full workout program…walking, running, biking, chasing kids (ahem), housecleaning, etc.  And you will need a gym if you want and extra dose of “iron”. offers fitness videos to build strength, flexibility, positive attitude, and knowledge.

Waiting. Ugh.

Waiting. Ugh. Double Ugh.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

We humans? We don’t like to wait. (And, in America, seldom have to.)

Microwaves. Internet. Wireless-everything. Money.

We can do what we want when we want.

So, when it comes to waiting, we don’t fare well.

And when it comes to waiting on GOD, well, we seldom do; decisions are made with a nod in His general direction while we proceed in the power of our own resources of money, talent, or position.

But sometimes, those don’t work.

Nothing does.

And we are forced to wait.

Every now and then, God allows something to interrupt our lives that stops us in our tracks.

And no amount of money or influence or charm will cure.

So, we go to Him.

And He hears. He sees. He knows what we need before we ask.

And He answers.

But often, before He does, we have to…

On Him.

And waiting on Him can be hard.

Very hard.

Painfully hard if you are waiting on a home or a direction or a salvation or a cure.

The pause between Problem…

…and Provision can seem eternal.

Time suspended.

And it takes courage.  More than we ever thought we’d need.

But how in the world do we keep waiting with courage when we have waited so long with unmet needs?

How do we not give up in despair and plummet to the bottom and stay there?

We have Him.

In all the Waiting, we have Him.

His inevitable goodness, mercy, and trustworthy timing give hope.

“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13

We will not make The Wait if we lose sight of Him.

If we cease to see Him and instead give all our attention to the waves that threaten, we will surely sink, Peter.  We will faint, trip, stumble, fall.

And quit.

We have to see Him.

And sometimes we see Him most clearly when, after we’ve fought so hard to survive, we fall exhausted to the floor and realize the only unchanging, dependable thing in our lives is…

The Earth-Shaper. Flower-Maker. Sky-Painter.

The Mountain-Former. Sea-Digger. Storm-Commander.

The Sculptor in the womb. Protector on our way. Going-Home-Taker when we’re done.

The I AM.  The Word-become-Flesh and Dweller-among-Us.

A Savior who taught us. Died for us. Knows how it is to be human.

A Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

He sees. He sees. He sees.

And He loves.

Wait on Him.

Be strong and of good courage.

You will see the goodness of the LORD.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm 27:14

Help meet our financial goals to train in CO here.

March = Give. April = Move!

Our goals and time frame for moving to Colorado for a year of training!  This will allow Davy to learn to run a nonprofit mission and learn alongside other missionaries before we move to TN.

Our goals:

  • $1500 to relocate ($3500 of $5000 received)
  • 96 monthly pledges of $25 (24 of 120 already filled) to supplement part-time jobs.
  • Raise funds by end of March 2015 and move to CO by mid-April

You can commit to more than one $25 pledge or give less.  One family we know cannot give $25 per month but want to be a part of what God is doing.  But they are determined to give and committed $10 per month.  “That’s just giving up a few bags of chips.  We can do that.”  How great.

For some folks, the $25 per month means giving up one “out to eat” each month.  Or one fast food meal each week.

I say this to show that every little bit helps tremendously.  And sometimes the help you can give doesn’t require giving up too much but can make a big difference on the other end.

God is in charge of providing the funds we need to obey Him.  Please check with Him to see if He wants you to give.

The mission center would like us there by May and our family is needing a home and routine.  In light of these things, the end of March is our fund raising goal.

The Funderburks
The Funderburks.

Thank you for your support in praying for us and keeping up with us!  We are chompin’ at the bits to relocate to CO and get started.  We’re looking forward to seeing what God has been leading up to for 5+ years!

Training for Tennessee at Colorado Mission Center

We have enjoyed visiting and laughing with old friends this month and sharing our story.  We have been overwhelmed by their support and encouragement.  It is has been good for us and has come along just when we needed it most.  (You know who you are.  Thanks for stepping out in faith with us, watching our God expectantly!)

New Castle, CO

God has provided a tailor-made learning experience to prepare us for ministry in Tennessee:  we are going to spend one year training with Advance Him, a missionary organization, in New Castle, Colorado.  Friends of ours have return from 3 years of sharing Christ with the Karamojong tribe in Uganda, Africa.  (  We have watched them spread the gospel in Africa in the most real and effective way we’ve ever seen.  They are back home in Colorado now andKenneth has become director of Advance Him.  They have warmly welcomed us to walk alongside them as they share the gospel and serve River Churches and then support us as we set up life in Tennessee.

Part of Davy’s training will also be serving as Assistant Director of Operations at the River Center in New Castle (a community based mission center for meeting needs.)

River Center serves as a connection in their community between those who “have” and want to share and those who need.  We are excited about this opportunity to learn how to show the love of Christ this way!  Davy will learn how to  direct a nonprofit ministry, work with those in need, connect resources in the community to the people who need them, work with volunteers and community officials, write grants, etc.  River Center is also hoping to expand their community garden.  Those who know Davy know that will be right up his alley…just a little extra detail the Lord worked into this plan.

Community Garden at River Center

During our year in CO, we will be seeking the Lord for further direction for us in northeast TN.  Over the last several years we have wondered if we would start a nonprofit mission one day.  And now, considering the training experience He is giving us, we wonder if He is preparing us to start a nonprofit in TN similar to Colorado’s River Center.

He will lead.  We will continue to obey and just enjoy Him as He gives us direction for TN.

But for this year, our destination is Colorado.  River Center would like us there by May for their community garden efforts.  Davy would like to move in April.  If the Lord is leading you to support us, you can learn how to give here.

We would also love to meet with you face to face if your church or small group is interested in supporting us or hearing more of our story.  Contact us so we visit with you in March before we head out to Colorado!
